Minister Dr. Darlene C. Beck

Dr. Darlene C. Beck, originally born in Chicago, IL, relocating to Milwaukee, WI in 1998. Dr. Beck has a passion to see others break through barriers that have kept them from reaching their true potential in life. Dr. Beck learned at an early age that she could change the narrative in her life by using education as a vehicle to shape her future. Dr. Beck is a proud graduate and alumni of Milwaukee Area Technical College. She earned her Licensed Practical Nursing Diploma in 2004 then returned to earn her Associates Degree in Nursing in 2007. Dr. Beck knew she wanted to further her education in the healthcare field so she attended Concordia University Mequon where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 2010 and then returned to earn her Master’s Degree in Nursing in 2015. Dr. Beck has been a part of many community organizations that have a mission to improve the health and education of the community it serves. Being a leader in her field, she knew that furthering her education was important to foster change and break down barriers at the highest level of her profession. In 2020, Dr. Beck earned her Doctoral Degree in Clinical Practice from the University of Alabama. Dr. Beck currently works as a Nursing Educator for Milwaukee Area Technical College. She also serves the community as an Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. Dr. Beck is community-minded. She has a unique ability to connect with people and be a connector of people. She has a strong ethic of care for her work/business, and she holds the same standards for the people she serves. Dr. Beck is currently the Dean of Membership for Chi Eta Phi, Sorority Inc. and is a part of other community organizations. Dr. Beck is a proud member of Emerging Women Leaders here in Milwaukee. Dr. Beck is also a proud member of Unity Gospel House of Prayer where she serves in ministry for different roles for the past twelve years. Outside of Dr. Beck’s professional roles, she is also a business owner. Dr. Beck founded Setting The Bar, LLC on May 30, 2018 which was established to help others change the narrative in their life by setting the bar in their life. Setting The Bar is a consulting company that has helped shape many members of the community into becoming change agents for their lives and the life of the community in which they live. Since 2018, Setting The Bar has grown remarkably. Setting The Bar is not only a company but also a brand. Dr. Beck has established extensions of Setting The Bar which align with the overall mission and vision of Setting The Bar. These extensions include The Strong Women Strong Faith Prayer Brunch, Boundaries Coaching Services and Apparel line, Bar Setters, Inc. and so much more. Dr. Beck was the recipient for the Outstanding Educator Award in 2017 from the ALEGO foundation. She was also the recipient of the Milwaukee Treasure Award in 2019 from the Saved and the City Christian Network. Dr. Beck most recently received an OMG MKE award for the contributions her business has made to the community. Dr. Beck has received a proclamation from the city of Milwaukee recognizing the annual Strong Women Strong Faith Prayer Brunch. Dr. Beck also received a commendation from the state of WI Governor’s office for her business contributions to Milwaukee and the state of Wisconsin. Dr. Beck is also the founder and president for Bar Setters, Inc. Bar Setters, Inc is a nonprofit company that serves children that are in and aging out of foster care. Outside of all the accolades, at the core of Dr. Beck is servanthood. Dr. Beck is most passionate about seeing others win at life. Dr. Beck gives her time, financial resources, wisdom and knowledge to help change the narrative within the community. Dr. Beck’s mission and overall purpose is to bring light into individuals’ lives by helping them come out of a stagnated position so that they may walk in the plans that God has for them.

Keyvonna Beamon is the CEO/Founder of Resilient Queen which is meant to create a safe and transformational atmosphere to help awaken, identify and equip women with the necessary resources and tools NEEDED to help them go to war with what’s going to to war with them and release them into who God has created them to be.
Keyvonna is pure evidence of experience, resilience and obedience. She is a woman that has glory attached to her story and is on mission to spread that glory through sisterhood, encouragement, love, support and prayer. She believes that ain’t NO HOOD like a sisterHOOD!

Dr. Kara Lock-Harris

Dr. Kara Lock-Harris, is a seasoned educator in theology and the proprietor of KLH Business Solutions. With a focus on apologetics and theology, Dr. Lock-Harris brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her speaking engagements. She is the esteemed author of two impactful Christian books: "Deaf by Giants" and "What in Hell Conflicts with God."
Combining her academic background, which includes an MBA, a Master's in Christian Apologetics, and a Doctorate in Theology and Apologetics, Dr. Lock-Harris is dedicated to teaching the Gospel and defending the truth of God's Word with sound apologetics. Her mission as a speaker is to enlighten and empower audiences with the timeless principles of faith and reason.

Lady Joanelle Williams

Joanelle Williams, known affectionately as Lady J, is married to Pastor Jarett R. Williams, the Pastor of New Direction Christian Church. They have been married 19 years and have two beautiful children together, Gabrielle (18) and Madison (15). Joanelle Williams is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Green-Bay, where she has a bachelor’s degree in Social Change and Development and a license in early childhood education. She is a kindergarten teacher at Milwaukee College Preparatory School in Milwaukee, WI. She has been teaching for 17 years and loves educating our children. She was awarded the Teacher of the Year on May 5th, 2023.
Every year she hosts, The Woman in the Mirror Conference. This conference continues to sell out every year and has changed many lives since it was founded 10 years ago. Lady J is also the Host of The Woman in the Mirror podcast which is produced by Rev. Mwanje Thompson and co-hosted by the lovely Chavon Robinson. She is the founder of The Woman in the Mirror Facebook group, which encourages women daily with devotionals and challenges. She is a servant by heart. She blesses many in the community and at her church by being an extreme couponer. She loves the Lord and tries to personify him on a daily basis. Her favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not to thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” By standing on this promise and many others in the word of God, Lady J continues to encourage, inspire and uplift many women in Milwaukee and across the state and country.

Dr. Rhonda Cotton

Dr. Rhonda Cotton was introduced to Christ at an early age. She has been passionately teaching the Gospel for over several decades. She resides in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin with her husband, Elder Troy Cotton, Sr. She is the mother of two adult sons, grandmother, Mentor, Professor in higher education, and Conference Speaker.
Dr. Cotton is a Nonprofit founder and CEO of Education on the Corner, a community based organization that offers free education services. She is honored to be a Black Woman, who received State approval from Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction for her 5.09 Competency Based High School Equivalency Diploma Program for adults who are unable to obtain a traditional high school diploma due to the following: incarceration, at-risk, learning disabilities, or lacking high school credits.
• In her early ministry experience, she served in the Baptist church as an evangelist, Usher, Church Cleaning Ministry, Director of Christian Education, and a Sunday school teacher for adults and tiny tots.
• She completed Clinical Pastoral Education and served as a chaplain for Aurora's Health Care.
• In 2006 the late Apostle Elbridge Lock, founder of Unity Gospel House of Prayer, Milwaukee, Wisconsin licensed Dr. Cotton as a teacher of the Gospel and ordained her.
• In 2009 Senior Pastor Marlon Lock of Unity Gospel House of Prayer, Milwaukee, Wisconsin ordained her and her husband as the first Elders to assist in overseeing the ministry.
• Dr. Cotton is the President of Unity Gospel House of Prayer’s Minister’s Licensure Program
• She oversees the Adult Sunday School Team and the Outreach Ministry for men in need of housing
• Dr. Cotton Graduated from Concordia University, with a double Bachelor’s Degree in Judicial Reporting and a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts and Science with an emphasis in Legal Science.
• She obtained her Master’s Degree in Education and Technology from Marian University, Wisconsin. In addition, Marian University nominated and inducted her into the Kappa Delta Pi, International Honor Society in Education for maintaining a (4.0 GPA) at the Master’s Degree level.
Dr. Cotton successfully defended her research and dissertation and was awarded the Doctor of Philosophy, (Ph.D.) Degree, in Leadership for the Advancement of Learning and Service in Higher Education from Cardinal Stritch University.
Her published dissertation is, entitled “What are the lived experiences of African American female faculty, who have obtained tenure in four-year higher education institutions: A Phenomenological Study of the reality of Black women in higher education.
• 2024 Dr. Cotton completed her doctorate in the theological study of pneumatology, doctrine of the Holy Spirit, from the College of The Open Bible Institute.
• Dr. Cotton’s life is dedicated to educating and encouraging generations to experience the power of the Holy Spirit. Her ministry comes from thorns, trials, and the storms of life. She continues to strive for excellence in Christ. Her ongoing mission is to reach lost souls.

Apostle
Dr. Shauntay Nelson
Speaker
Shauntay Nelson functions in the office of the Apostle and is a strong Prophetic visionary leader. She ministers with the belief that Christians are to influence the communities in which they live and conduct business, thereby impacting communities for the Kingdom of God. She has more than twenty-five years of experience in leadership development and has demonstrated the ability to train both believers and nonbelievers to walk in the fullness of their God given identity.
Recognized for her expertise, she has been invited to share her insights and experiences at esteemed institutions such as Marquette Law School, where she served as one of the TEDx Talk speakers for Marquette University in 2019. Her insights and expertise have been sought after by various media outlets including NPR, Urban Milwaukee, Milwaukee Community Journal, Time Magazine, Blueprint365, and the Shepherd Express. She also appeared as a guest on Milwaukee PBS’s “Black Nouveau.”
Shauntay recently became the Vice President of Wisconsin Women’s Network, where she focuses on promoting the advancement of women and girls in Wisconsin through communication, education, advocacy, and connections.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, she has dedicated herself to serving as a voice for marginalized communities. As a guest speaker at events, such as the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, she has used her platform to address critical issues facing communities of color, and advocate for systemic reforms.
